When I started my business I was a little “anti-insta”. In the past I had randomly posted when I felt like it. The only people who were following me were friends and family. My business posts would get ZERO likes and my selfies would get great engagement. It just was more of a personal account than anything and because of that, I didn’t give it the power to be more.
Well after a month of running my business I realized I’d need to start attracting potential clients through my content. I can honestly say from the point I started taking my instagram seriously to now, 99% of my clients have come directly from instagram. Pretty freaking rad, huh?
I did a FB Live talking about this in the KINZCOWORLD BOSS BAES group. Click here to watch it. It was FREAKING juicy.
But to break down the tips easily and quickly for you. These are the things I’ve learned as I’ve prioritized Instagram and helped my clients do the same.
WHAT YOU FOCUS ON, GROWS
It’s tempting as an entrepreneur to want to be all the places, doing all the things, all the time. But guess what? That doesn’t work.
You have to decide 100% where you are going to show up the most. And the show up, keep showing up, then give it time to flourish. There are times of sowing and reaping and the sowing always comes first.
There are a few places it’s VITAL you integrate who you are into your profile.
DON’T WASTE YOUR CHARACTERS. Use up every inch of your bio. Explain exactly what you have to offer your dream client. When someone comes to your bio, they need to understand exactly what you do.
Spice it up with the emojis you use the most, too!! You should have a few emojis and words that your brand is knownw for.
Your feed is your first impression. A good starting point is 30 posts. Don’t focus on perfection, just focus on filling up that space with stalkable content.
Sure Instagram is a content monster, BUT that content lives on forever and could convert someone 6 months after you post it when they find your profile and stalk you until that trust is built.
The most magical feature in all of Instagram. This is where you should be showing up the MOST. Showing yourself living your life. Embodying the most authentic, higher version of yourself.
The nice thing about stories is they only live for 24 hours. After that they can disappear or you can add them to your highlight bubbles, but no room for perfection here!
Here’s the thing, if you’re choosing Instagram to be your main platform, you need to overdeliver in ALL the places.
Instagram is going give love and impressions to the accounts that are utilizing allllll the things. So you better be showing up on IGTV. This is a great place to post tutorials, try ons, Q&As, etc.
Instagram live changed EVERYTHING for me. The moment I started going live often was the moment my followers felt real. The moment I made that real connection with them. The moment they started buying often. I honestly don’t think anybody even cared about what I was saying, it was just about making those connections and having those real life (ish) convos.
Going live was really freaking scary the first time. But now like 4 months later, it’s my literal favorite thing to do. I wish I could go live every single hour hahahaha. Jk don’t block me.
PS I just relaunched my Rich Creative Crash Course! It’s going to teach you allllll the things I’ve applied in my business to reach multiple 5-figure months with easy. Click here to sign up. 🙂
